The onus is on individuals to claim records by email to Terence Baker and include name, competition, date, actual competition body weight, age group, and record being claimed.
There are some categories where a record does not exist, to set the new records lifters must do so at the annual British Masters Championship.
To break existing it is necessary to compete in a competition sanctioned or agreed by The British Masters Committee. It must be the actual The British Masters, home country competition (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales) and in addition all International Masters events approved by the IMWA and shown on the IMWA Calendar.
